Establishment of walking paths toMemorialize fallen local soldiers

The Jewish Federation of Rochester has generously forwarded an earmarked donation for the establishment of walking paths named for Modiin’s fallen soldiers in the Irons Swords war. Each family chose among a selection of locations around the city, according to their soldier’s personal story, neighborhood & places in town of childhood significance .

Rochester Modi’in Judaism Leadership program, joining two groups of young people aged 35-55 into one;  one in Modi’in and one in Rochester.  They will  study similar topics related to Jewish identity and Israel-Diaspora relations. The program will include reciprocal visits between the two groups.

What does the program include?

This is a biennial activity of 12 monthly  meetings ,  that is led by  a facilitator.  Simultaneously  a similar group is being built in Rochester. During the year the two groups meet once in Israel and once in Rochester for a joint educational seminar.

The contents include Israeli Jewish identity , culture, community leadership, contact with the Diaspora and is  

 rebuilt every year in accordance with the goals of the partnership

The program creates an opportunity to build leadership that will influence the local community.

We accept candidates who have a background and affinity for the relevant subjects, who are fluent in the English language, and who commit to take part in activities throughout the year.
